Get There on time!

So as I said in my previous post, yesterday was a hectic day for me, running around london in 5inch heels just made matters more interesting. But the day was undoubtedly  a blast and for so many reasons (so get ready for a long post). Woke up early to go and vote, then I headed off to the Swatch & Art event. The event took place at Shunt London, in the words of British artist aka Casette Playa the venue was a "futustic playground\dungeon". First came the press release where yours truly was "Toni, Media UK" sitting on the front row wondering "wow how in the hell did I end up front row at a Swatch press release & event, surrounded by professionals who do this daily". Then there was the unveiling of the four "swatch & Art" watches designed by four artists and designers from around the world; Ivan Navarro, Casette Playa, Manish Arora and Enki Bilala. They each had a personalised space in the dungeon to showcase not only their watch but also their vision and perspective on "time".

The amount of interesting people present was just unbelievable, of course the glasses of champagne at 1pm did help quite a bit. I left with a bag full of goodies, including Casette Playa's playful Art watch. It was great meeting her and listening to her point of view, she really is an upbeat and hands on kind of girl with one hell of a personnal style. I have to say I really Liked Ivan Navaro's watch too with the skull and the story behind it was very touching. He explained how his upbringing during the dictatorship in Chile influences, sill today, a lot of his decisions. I had so many pictures but decided to share with you those of Ivan Navarro and his watch and of Casette Playa.

This really is the reason why I love Swatch so much, it truly is so much more than just about time. Swatch is also about fashion, about art and each watch conveys a message and represents so much more than just a watch or accessory. These watches are clearly each linked to and portrays a personal journey and story. I would have loved to go back to the cocktail, Diner and the party (wich I hear was simply incredible) but with the final exams just around the corner I just couldn't.

Then I got myself to Carnaby street, were the day just got better. The sketchbook pop up store was so much more than I had imagined. The ever surprising shop, the welcoming girls at Skechbook, the enthusiastic bloggers and of course the dynamic and fun duo Jill & jen. The workshop was just the perfect place to share our stories and tips about blogging, to meet new bloggers and learn from bloggers such as Jen and Jill how have clearly made a name for themselves in the blogging world.

It was strange and great fun to get a sense of this community outside of the blogosphere itself, and literally take it to the streets. For the rest i will let the pictures do the talking.

On a last note, a will try and get some pictures of me in front of the camera not behind it so that you can what I was wearing during my hectic day. So if any of the bloggers that were there that da have pictures of me and I don't look like I have ran a marathon all day, do let me know. Thanks and thank you for a great afternoon!

Cupcakes & pinatas

Just got back from Brussels. It was a fun yet hectic stay as always but its always such a pleasure  to come back and to see all my friends. I thought I would share with you some of my pictures from my stay in Brussels and party in Antwerp. I have to say the titles sums up the best part of it, so if you think this is just another funky title, think again because you are never to old for either cupcakes or pinatas. I hope you all had a great weekend and I promise I will answer all your emails this week.

//WEARING// Dress: H&M (skirt worn as a dress as seen here) Cargo shirt: Zara Cuff: Courtesy of Philippe Audibert

The gorgeous blonde (otherwise known as one of my best friends) is wearing my jumpsuit from Sisley (brought last year) and my second cuff courtesy of Philippe Audibert. I might not have any sisters to steal and share clothes with but I do have a wonderful friend and neighbour with the same passion for clothes, whom  thankfully has more or less the same size as me.

Backstage & Art

So as I said on Monday last week, I ended up helping backstage at a fashion show for young designers, where a friend of mine was modeling (the one that looks like a modern version of 'a quite content' princess Léa). It was a fun experience and a whole lot of chaos. As ever it was months of preparation for a show that was over in a mere 10 minutes. The Passion Fashion Show - 1st Edition, Nuevos Talentos gathered six young designers whom had the opportunity to present their creations; Juan Hernandez Daels, Paula Avellaneda, Carol Watts, Erika Corona, Amparo Santamaria Dacal, Laura Walser Boserman. I thought I would share with you some of the 'stolen' moments I could snap in between dressing models, sowing up ripped garments and looking for lost hats...

And Sunday was spent wondering round 'Art Brussels', contemporary art fair which was also a delight. Here are  just a few of the pics I took during the Art fair, I won't bore you with the rest.

Finally, Hypeed's latest editorial is up 'The Timeless Stylish trench coat' and is worth taking a look at, if not for some inspiring ideas then just for the gorgeous pictures. I was flattered to be featured once more in their editorial, so thank you again to the Hypeed team. If you feel inspired don't hesitate to participated in the current callings which are very much in trend right now!

Diary Rome

Rome is one of those amazing cities were no matter where you walk you are more often than not walking on ruins that are thousands of years old. She has many lovers and even more so, admirers. Rome is a fairytale that begins a long time ago but never ends... Definitely an amazing historical destination, however not so much the fashion headquarters of the world. Indeed, Rome is not a fashionable place and even less so fashion oriented. You don't go to Rome to shop nor to 'people watch' or you will die of boredom. Roman girls follow the most unusual and dull fashion trends I have ever seen; OTT embellished jeans, mid calf wedge boots, plastic copies of Moncler coat and on rare occasions the real thing and they are all sporting the LV monogram canvas.

This being said, this did make my trip that much more cheaper as there was literally nothing I wanted to buy, never a bad thing after Christmas. So, as promised here are some of my pictures with the "not so fashionable" outfits I wore, this is particularly due the the fact that is was throwing it down every day but also due to the fact that i had only one pair of flat shoes and Rome is not heel friendly, by far.

xx

Wearing: H&M snood, Mango T-shirt, H&M cardigan, pimkie Shorts and Topshop pumps.

Why I chose to wear my T-shirt with half of Heidi's butt hanging out the day we were off to see the Vatican is still a mystery to me. Then again it beats wearing thigh high boots :)

Wearing (one of my favorite outfits of the moment): Green Army coat, loose H&M T-shirt, jeans and thigh high boots from Miss Selfridge. I spoke about green coats, like the one I am wearing, here. I had a summer version and I am so glad I found a winter version too.
