About the blogger

A student, a daughter, a girlfriend, a friend, a shopaholic, and now a blogger,

When I am asked to define my style, I find myself lost for words. Firstly, I don't really believe in having to define and categorize everything all the time. Secondly, I would be the most unfaithful person to any (and all) of these categories as I like to experiment and will just about try anything.

In other words, I wear what I like and what I feel like wearing at that precise time and place. Now, sometimes it works and others it doesn't, but at least I can say I have tried it. This being said, no matter what I wear I do try never to fade away or hide behind my clothes, or worse be someone I am not.

As most redheads will tell you, we already stand out in a crowed and because of this I often down play my outfits in orders to blend in. Indeed, I like things simple, and even though I am a sucker for handbags, packing on jewelry, crazy shoes and all the other amazing things one can do with fashion, I more often than not find myself leaving the house with a watch as unique accessory.  And this I often regret, as one simple detail on an outfit can really make it that much more personal.

Fashion trends frustrate me but also fascinate me. I am more often than not, too late on a trend or too soon catching on. Either way, I just figure that trends will come back round if I miss it the first time around. So, even though I don't believe in following the trends to a T, I do believe that it is these same trends that push people to think outside of the box. Thus, making the fashion blogosphere, created by today's youth, the most incredible journey anyone could take.

xx

Diary Rome

Rome is one of those amazing cities were no matter where you walk you are more often than not walking on ruins that are thousands of years old. She has many lovers and even more so, admirers. Rome is a fairytale that begins a long time ago but never ends... Definitely an amazing historical destination, however not so much the fashion headquarters of the world. Indeed, Rome is not a fashionable place and even less so fashion oriented. You don't go to Rome to shop nor to 'people watch' or you will die of boredom. Roman girls follow the most unusual and dull fashion trends I have ever seen; OTT embellished jeans, mid calf wedge boots, plastic copies of Moncler coat and on rare occasions the real thing and they are all sporting the LV monogram canvas.

This being said, this did make my trip that much more cheaper as there was literally nothing I wanted to buy, never a bad thing after Christmas. So, as promised here are some of my pictures with the "not so fashionable" outfits I wore, this is particularly due the the fact that is was throwing it down every day but also due to the fact that i had only one pair of flat shoes and Rome is not heel friendly, by far.

Wearing: H&M snood, Mango T-shirt, H&M cardigan, pimkie Shorts and Topshop pumps.

Why I chose to wear my T-shirt with half of Heidi's butt hanging out the day we were off to see the Vatican is still a mystery to me. Then again it beats wearing thigh high boots :)

Wearing (one of my favorite outfits of the moment): Green Army coat, loose H&M T-shirt, jeans and thigh high boots from Miss Selfridge. I spoke about green coats, like the one I am wearing, here. I had a summer version and I am so glad I found a winter version too.

Boot Camp

I took me a while to appreciate my coat, I brought it about two months ago and have only started wearing it. I am, what one would call an impulsive buyer, when I like something I will no hesitate too long. This being said, I am not the kind of shoppe that will run home and wear my brand new items straight away. I often, even forget about them which is always a nice surprise when I find it again in my closet.

My hesitation towards wearing Leopard print is directly linked to the fact that I am a bright redhead. I love this print on blonds and brunettes, so I guess I was just worried I would either end up looking very cheap or worse, as if I should be working a street corner. But I will try anything once and in this case the coat actually grew on me.

Sondage: I was wondering what your thoughts were on Chictopia vs. Lookbook? Do you prefer one to the other, and if so why? or do you guys thinks they are somewhat different and each have something to offer that the other doesn't?

The little red coat

I'm back from what was, both an incredible stay in the stunning city of Rome and the reality check that fashion is non-existent in Rome. It took us more than 48 hours to get back to the UK because of the snow (this is my excuse for my lack of  recent posts), anyway I'm finally back and I thought I would post an outfit that I wore just before I left for Rome. I found this little red coat at the bottom of my wardrobe it must be at least 6 years old, but I kind of like it's quirkiness. Inspired by my earlier post, une touche de rouge.

[caption id="attachment_307899" align="aligncenter" width="540" caption="Wearing: Cos dress (not seen here but you will soon, very old H&M coat, and Zara wedges."][/caption]

I will fill you in very soon on the never ending journey to Rome and post some (what I hope will be) amazing pictures, meanwhile I have to face my final thesis, my 900 RSS feeds (serves me right for following so many of you) and an abandoned looking rabbit.

UPDATE: you might have noticed that there is a new addition on FashionCloud, you can now 'like' a post. I have done this because, from my personal experience and when discussing with other bloggers, sometimes we might really like something but either don't have the time or can't find the right words to write a comment. So do feel free to 'like' what you, well, like!
