The Chinese new year in Paris - in Le Marais - is spectacular, colourful and noisy, but it definitely makes for a great show. Will you be celebrating Chinese New Year this year? If so, where?

A few pictures from my latest trip to Paris. Paris is such an amazing city in winter - especially when the clouds and rain stay away.

As the saying goes, Paris is always a good idea, and it sure was. I was delighted to spend last weekend in Paris, and even more so to be staying in the beautiful Emile Hotel located at the heart of the Marais. And you all know how I have a sweet spot for Le Marais.
I really wanted to share with you some pictures of the Hotel and our suite because it was all just perfect and so 'Paris'. Design wise, I am in love with the décor of the hotel and love the black, blue and white combo it just works to perfection. We were really lucky to get the suite on the top floor of the hotel looking over Le Marais and Saint Paul. The hotel is really well situated, a one minuet walk to the metro station Saint Paul and right at the heart of Le Marais district which is blissful.
The breakfast was your typical no-fuss French breakfast - baguette, croissant, butter and jam with freshly squeezed orange juice and a choice of coffee or tea. The perfect way to start the day if you ask me. If you are ever looking for a lovely boutique hotel at the heart of the 'troisième' this is the place you have been looking for.
Some additional new places to check out in Le Marais:
Popelini (Food) - 29, Rue Debelleyme 75003
L'Alimentari (Food) - 6, Rue des Ecouffes 75004
Café La Favorite (Food) - 4, Rue de Rivoli 75004 (next door to the hotel)
Maison Georges Larnicol (Chocolate) - 14, Rue de Rivoli 75004
L'Art du Basic (Fashion) - 78, Rue Vieille du Temple 75003
