Bread & Butter farmhouse cafe is neatly tucked away in Hackney, one minute from Haggerston station and one minute from De Beauvoir. It is right next door to where we live and as such it is one of our regular places where we go to get breakfast or lunch when we are just too lazy to do it ourselves.

We like it for its 'homy' and very laid back feel to it. Also, they allow dogs which as you will all know by now is a huge bonus for us. Actually, not only do they allow dogs but they are great with them.

The menu is simple and perfect ranging from pancakes with fruit compote to full English breakfast, breakfast sandwiches, wraps, salads and delicious cakes.

If you are looking for somewhere to work and spend the afternoon and you don't really feel like being in an overcrowded Starbucks or McDonald this is the place for you.

They are also a deli with a variety of produces and products and you can take away the cakes, breads, patisseries and sandwiches.

The Bistroteque is without q doubt one of the hidden gems of East London. I have been there several times for brunch now and the brunch menu - and the food - is just as good as I remembered. They make the all time best eggs Benedict and eggs royale I have ever had the pleasure of tasting - they are just perfect.

Tucked away in a small street in hackney you wouldn't know this places existed if you hadn't have been told - and now you have. On the first floor of an amazing warehouse conversion, the resident pianist plays a solid selection accompanying diners while they brunch on white table cloths. They have also just lunched a new concept - community dining - be sure to check it out.

Because of the open kitchen, dogs are not allowed.

The blue legume is a chain with restaurants in Islington Stoke Newington and Crouch Hill. They are all generally packed on a weekend, especially during brunch hours and it is probably best to ring them up to book a table. Their poached eggs are always a success and everything is affordable and good. They have a very wholesome approach to food and don't expect to give your tastebuds the best culinary experience they have had but you will be feed and you will be feed well. They also have a good selection of fresh juices and their salads are also a decent size.

Sadly they don't accept dogs, unless you are sat on the terrace.
